Dave Lustig

Coach Lustig is a 1996 graduate of Wyandotte Roosevelt where he competed on both the cross country and track & field teams. In 1995, Lustig's cross country team finished 12th in the state and his track and field team lost only one meet from 1994-96. 

Lustig began coaching high school track & field in 1999 at Southgate Aquinas High School. From 2000-2004, Lustig served as throws coach for Grosse Ile HS and began his tenure at Wyandotte in 2005 where he served as middle school assistant coach and then became the Wyandotte Roosevelt Boys Head Coach in 2006. In 2014, Lustig became the Program Director of the Wyandotte TF program and oversaw both boys and girls teams until 2017. In all, Lustig has coached 2 state champions, numerous all-state and league champions and has seen many school records broken. His boys teams never finished worse than 2nd place in the conference from 2008-2017 including 5 league championships and his girls claimed 3 additional league championships between 2014-2017.

Lustig was also the Wyandotte Ladies Cross Country head coach from 2010-2017.

Currently Coach Lustig has served on the Executive Board of the Michigan Interscholastic Track Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (MITCA) since 2013, including President in 2016-2017. His current role is Meet Director for Team Michigan events.

At home, Coach Lustig is married to Gina for 17 years and has three children, Miley (16), Leo (14), Rex (12) and a pup named Meatball.

Professionally, Coach Lustig works for DTE as an Operations Technician/Safety Leader at their Coke Battery Operations on Zug Island since 2017. Lustig also owns DL Pro Timing, LLC which provides scoring services for both cross country and track & field events.
